Dobbies is a byword for excellence in the horticultural world. The company was founded by James Dobbie in 1865 and supplies both amateur and professional gardeners with one of the widest range of plants, tools and materials available in the UK.
Dobbies Garden Centres have outlets all over Scotland and England with over 1,500 staff. The busy centres provide gardening products, hardware and gift products along with in-store cafes to give their customers a complete shopping experience. Dobbies centres are extremely popular and are very busy places filled with would be gardeners and enthusiasts alike.
Counting cash from tills can be very time consuming - this is where the Cashmaster machine comes into its own. The contents of a typical till can be counted in less than a minute - that’s six times faster than counting by hand - and the machine is not only fast but it is also accurate, getting the count right first time and reducing errors.
John Oliver at Dobbies head office said, “We use our machine 2 or 3 times a day; it is used to count everything in our tills. We also use it for counting floats, safes and for reconciliation purposes. Our stores save on average 15 minutes to half an hour per day, a time saving that can be used to serve more customers”.
