Park Road Primary School, Rosyth, was built in the 1920’s. The school covers the eastern area of Rosyth and the southern Dhuloch area of Dunfermline, catering for 290 primary and 80 nursery school children, ages ranging from 3 to 12 years old.

Park Road Primary School has an excellent record of encouraging youngsters to explore the exciting world of learning. Their dedicated staff of teachers, classroom assistants, playgroup supervisors and clerical personnel, ensures that the path to knowledge runs as smoothly as possible for the children in their care.

In 2005, Diane Clark, the school’s clerical head, was introduced to Cashmaster’s counting machines by colleagues another school. Diane said, “They had been very impressed and recommended that I try out this great machine”. When she contacted Cashmaster they worked with Diane to ensure she received the machine most suited to the school’s requirements.

The Omega C (recently renamed Sigma 160) was recommended by Cashmaster and Diane now describes the machine as an invaluable aid for counting. Diane went on to say, “The trial period coincided with a vouchers for school initiative and being able to count these as well as cash was an unexpected bonus”. The concept of the Cashmaster machine is to streamline the process of counting, increasing accuracy and efficiency - an aim that every organisation, commercial or not, strives to achieve.

In such a busy and diverse environment as a school, time and efficiency rank high on their agenda. Julie Jordan, clerical assistant at the school, commented, “The machine is used on a daily basis, counting cash, mostly coins - it is certainly a lot faster than counting by hand.” When asked how much time is saved each day, Julie went on to say, it can vary, on average about 10 minutes a day, but much more when sponsorships and fundraisers are involved, on these occasions I can be using the machine for most of the morning, when we’d traditionally spend much more of our time counting by hand.”

Diane and Julie both found the machine easy to use, and were able to pick up the basic count operation in a matter of seconds. “We found the instructions very clear and easy to understand.” Diane further commented, “I really don’t know how we would manage without it and would most definitely recommend a Cashmaster machine to anyone.”

At Cashmaster, customer care is of great importance, and Cashmaster work with their clients to ensure they receive a care package that suits all of their requirements. Diane remarked, “When we needed to calibrate the machine for the vouchers it was done over the phone. The help line operator was very helpful and talked me through the process.”

Cashmaster are always keen to emphasise that their products can be used in virtually every commercial environment, but their machines are also used in education, charities, governmental agencies and even churches. “We are very pleased to learn that Park Road Primary School are benefiting from using one of our machines, especially as it’s local to our head quarters. It’s testament to how our machines can work in a non-commercial environment. Although not directly related to teaching, we are proud of the fact that the school’s clerical staff can concentrate their efforts on more pressing issues,” commented Christopher Howroyd, Cashmaster’s NPD & Marketing Manager.

Cashmaster’s desire to understand the needs of their customers enables them to offer their machines, along with expert advice and service, to a host of establishments, from schools and charities to retail and banking, large or small.
