Environmental and ethical policies

An integral part of Cashmaster International’s business strategy is our corporate environmental policy. The responsibility for managing and maintaining the policy lies with the Board of Cashmaster International Ltd.

Cashmaster International is an environmentally conscious and responsible company.

Environmental policy

Cashmaster International’s policy is to strive to ensure all aspects of the business have the least harmful effect on the environment by implementing an environmental management system to:

  • Be fully aware of all environmental legislation and ensure that regulatory requirements are met and, where feasible, improved upon.
  • Monitor the implementation of the policy by carrying out periodic audits of compliance and, when appropriate, introduce remedial measures.
  • Ensure all employees, in the course of their duties, act in accordance with the environmental policy. Encourage suppliers, contractors and vendors to act in accordance with our environmental standards.
  • Areas of particular attention within the business will be the selection of environmentally friendly technology, waste minimisation, and reuse/recycling as well as the reduction of energy consumption.
  • Cashmaster International also makes a positive environmental contribution in the local community by encouraging open communication, general environmental awareness and the promotion of community projects.

RoHS

Cashmaster’s product range is fully compliant with the European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) of 2006.

This Directive bans electronic equipment that contains more than the agreed low levels of lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium, metals frequently used in electronic equipment.

Cashmaster International has been working to ensure our product range complies with these mandatory regulations since they were announced in 2003. This has resulted in a need to introduce new circuitry design, via digitisation, as well as batteries and charging components and applications.

WEEE

Cashmaster’s product range is fully compliant with the European Union’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) of 2002.

This Directive aims to reduce waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment, make producers of EEE responsible for the environmental impact of their products (especially when they become waste), encourage separate collection and subsequent treatment, reuse, recovery, recycling and sound environmental disposal of electrical equipment and improvement of environmental performance for all those involved during the lifecycle of electrical equipment.
