20 February 2020
No date yet announced for the withdrawal of the paper £20 note. The bank of England will announce the date 6 - 12 months in advance.
Yes. The date of introduction has not yet been announced. We will update this page when we have a date. Cashmaster has also completed the calibration process to enable counts of those variants.
With our latest software update, the entire Cashmaster range will be able to count any combination of polymer, paper and coins. Cashmaster devices are already being shipped with built-in capability to count the new notes, so come February customers will be ready to go.
The paper and polymer variants of the £20 should be sorted separately in cash drawers and placed separately onto your counter. When enabled, there will be ‘£20 Paper’ and ‘£20 Polymer’ note types active on your device.
Our customer service team are ready to provide further information regarding updating devices ahead of the date at which the new note comes into circulation.
