When Do UK Paper £20 and £50 Notes get Withdrawn?

The Bank of England is removing the legal tender status of UK paper £20 and £50 notes after the 30th September 2022.

You are now encouraged to exchange any remaining paper notes you have in advance of the deadline, at which point they will no longer be accepted by shops or businesses.

If you do have any paper notes remaining after the deadline, do not worry – the Bank of England will always exchange any withdrawn notes for you.
